Seasonal contracts

One flat price, unlimited visits from mid-November to the end of March, triggered automatically once snowfall hits 5 cm. You never invoice-watch after a storm and you never call to ask where the plow is — when it snows, we come, and your morning carries on like it didn’t. Routes are planned street by street, which is why they fill by mid-November: book in September or October and your driveway is on the map before the first flake.

Your contract spells out exactly what’s included — driveway, parking area, and any walkways or steps you add — so there’s never a February conversation about what you thought you were paying for.

Per-visit clearing

Prefer to pay as it snows? Per-visit clearing covers the same work at a fixed rate you agree to before the season — a good fit if you head south for part of the winter or barely use the property. We’ll be straight with you though: in a normal Kawartha winter the seasonal contract usually wins on price, and in a big storm, seasonal routes get cleared first.

Rural laneways are our specialty

If your laneway runs 300 feet off a township road, you’ve probably heard every excuse — too far, too long, a price pulled out of the air. Yours is exactly the property we built our routes around. Walkways, steps and salting

You should be able to walk to your own front door without studying the ice. Add walkways and steps to any contract, and our salting add-on keeps the surfaces you actually walk on safe between storms — applied after every clear, not just when someone remembers.

This is the part of the service we take most seriously. A cleared driveway saves you effort; a properly cleared and treated walkway can save you a fall. If anyone in your household is less steady on ice than they used to be, tell us when you book — we’ll flag your property for extra attention on the surfaces you walk, right to the door you actually use.

What a snow morning looks like

Here’s how it goes from your side. Overnight, the snow passes the trigger depth. Before most of the town is up, our route starts — driveways cleared in a planned order, so we can tell you honestly what window to expect rather than “sometime today.” Your driveway is opened, your walkway is cleared and treated if it’s on your contract, and the windrow the town plow left across the end of your driveway is knocked down too — because a “cleared” driveway you can’t actually pull out of isn’t cleared.

In a long, multi-day storm we make repeat passes, hitting every property on the route each cycle. You never need to call. That’s the whole point of a seasonal contract: winter becomes something you watch out the window with a coffee.

A word about being away

Snowbirds and travellers: an unshovelled driveway is the clearest “nobody’s home” sign a house can wear, and many insurance policies expect the property to look lived-in and reachable. A seasonal contract keeps your home looking occupied and your driveway open for whoever checks on the place — a small thing that quietly protects a big one.

Questions we hear a lot

When do you come after it snows?

Clearing starts once accumulation reaches the contract trigger — typically 5 cm — with routes ordered so everyone is open by the times we commit to. During a major multi-day storm we make multiple passes.

What if it barely snows this winter?

That is the trade seasonal pricing makes: light winters favour you some years, heavy winters favour you others. If predictability matters more than betting on the forecast, seasonal is the right pick; if not, per-visit is right there.

Do you clear right to the ground?

We clear to a hard-packed safe surface; the salting add-on handles the ice layer on walkways and steps. Gravel laneways are cleared with blade height set to protect the surface.

Can neighbours share a rate?

Yes — three or more homes on the same street get a group rate, because a tight route is cheaper for us to run and we pass that along. Mention your neighbours in the referral field when you book.

How late can I sign up?

Until routes fill — which in a normal year is mid-November. After that we take per-visit customers as capacity allows.

How do I pay, and when?

Whatever suits you: e-transfer, cheque or card. Seasonal contracts can be paid up front or split into two or three instalments across the winter — plenty of our customers prefer spreading it out, and we're happy to set that up. Prices are subject to HST and your contract shows the full amount, no surprises.

Someone in our house has a medical appointment schedule — can you prioritize us?

Tell us when you book. We build routes with real life in mind: dialysis mornings, early shifts, a spouse who needs the car out by a certain hour. We can't promise the impossible in a blizzard, but a route is a plan, and your needs go into the plan.
