Mulching
Proper depth, proper edge, kept off the trunks and stems — mulch done right suppresses weeds and holds moisture; mulch done wrong rots what it touches. Refreshes and full installs.
Grading and drainage
Water pooling at the foundation, a soggy side yard, a laneway washing out — grading problems get worse every season they wait. We regrade, swale and direct water where it should go, which in this area often decides whether a basement stays dry.
Low-maintenance by design
The most common request we hear isn’t “make it bigger” — it’s “make it easier.” A garden can be designed to need less of you: perennials that come back on their own, mulch depths that actually suppress weeds, raised beds that spare your knees and your back, plants spaced for their full-grown size so you’re not pruning every weekend. If you love gardening, we’ll build you a garden to work in. If you’d rather enjoy it from a chair with a book, tell us that instead — it changes the design, and we’d rather know.
What projects typically run
As honest ballparks for budgeting: bed refreshes and mulching usually land in the hundreds; new bed builds with planting commonly run into the low thousands depending on size and stock; grading and drainage work is quoted on-site because no two water problems are alike. Questions we hear a lot
Why no instant estimator for landscaping?
Because auto-quoting a bed or a drainage fix without seeing grade, access and soil produces numbers that are wrong in both directions. The ballpark ranges above are for budgeting; the consultation gets you a real number, free.
Do you do design?
For most residential beds and plantings we design as part of the job. Larger full-property plans are scoped in the consultation.
When is the best time to plant?
Spring and early fall for most stock in this zone. Booking a consultation in winter or early spring gets your project into the season's first build slots.
Will you maintain what you build?
Gladly — and honestly, gardens we maintain look better in year three than gardens anyone walks away from. Ask about adding bed care to a lawn plan and the two get priced together.
